Why Don’t We Eat Healthy When We’re Young?!

Have you ever wondered why we don’t eat healthy when we’re young? It all starts with how we were raised. For me, my parents never imposed limits on my food choices. I only ate what I liked, and like many kids, I refused to eat vegetables. Our dinner table was always stocked with soft drinks like Coca-Cola. Looking back, I realize we never even had a bottle of water on the table! 😅🥹

Ever since I can remember, I was a heavy Coca-Cola drinker. People often say that drinking Coke in the evening can keep you awake because of the caffeine, but I never had this problem. I could sleep like a baby, so I kept drinking it. My mindset was simple: if I wasn’t gaining weight or having trouble sleeping, I could handle drinking this sugary beverage.

But one day, I saw a video—either on YouTube or TV, I can’t recall exactly—about a woman who drank a lot of Coke and developed health issues. I don’t remember the details, but that video sparked something in me. I decided to quit drinking Coke. However, I soon realized just how addicted I was. There were moments when I’d find myself drinking directly from the bottle without even realizing it! 🥹 After a gulp, I’d think, “Wait, nooo!” 😂🫠 So, I had to start all over again.

Eventually, I managed to stop drinking Coke for over a year. At that time, I only drank a glass of Coca-Cola if I was at a restaurant or invited somewhere. Funny enough, one glass used to never be enough, but back then it was even too much for me! 🤯 The longer I avoid it, the more my body reacts to it. With just one sip, I’ve even spit it out because it tastes disgusting, and I immediately feel bloated. 😮

How did I go from drinking it heavily to spitting it out? I believe my body can now clearly tell me that it’s not good for me. It’s like my body is saying, “Don’t put this stuff back in your beautiful temple!” 😂

Since then, I’ve switched to drinking water or tea, and I feel great! 😊 This marked the beginning of my journey toward healthier habits.

The Conclusion:

As children, we have a lot to learn, and our bodies are strong enough to handle toxins to some extent. But everything comes with a price. So, to all the parents out there, please don’t give your children sugary drinks or unhealthy foods.

I hope today’s blog motivates you to give up those sugary drinks. I’m sending you all my support and love. You can do it! 💪

Love, Lucy 🌟
